--------Introduction in English--------
"Luhua Shuangyan Tu" axis, Qing Dynasty, Huang Shen Painting, paper, color, 211 cm vertical, 61 cm horizontal.
The title of the painting is: "Half the mountain is inclined by the rain belt, reflecting the guests'clothes to the water, reeds and flowers." Outside the clouds, you can see that you are everywhere, sending books and wild goose flying south. Jun's "Huang Shen" white print and "Ying Po" Zhu Wenyin are on each side.
After autumn rain, the mist on the river surface was misty, and the reed leaves with rainwater swayed in the wind. Two geese inhabit under the leaves of the reed, their eyes closed, their bodies shrank, their heads buried in feathers, revealing the chill after the rain. "Outside the clouds, you can see that the gentleman is everywhere, sending books and wild goose flying south." Winter is coming, wild goose flying south. Their exchanges often arouse people's sorrow of missing and leaving, hoping to send greetings to distant relatives and friends. This painting uses scenery to express feelings, and writes the thoughts of distant relatives and friends through Luhua Qiuyan.
From this work, we can see Huang Shen's uniqueness in literati painters. He is good at discovering moving scenes in nature, embodying feelings in scenes, supplemented by poetry, thus illuminating the meaning beyond painting. In this respect, he shares the same interest with Huayan. Both of their works have the characteristics of both elegance and vulgarity, and interact with each other. In the drawing method, the vast river surface is dyed with ink, and the farther it is, the weaker it is. The reed leaves melt into the wild brushwork of cursive script, with a quick brush, individual branches and leaves with strong ink to wake up, creating a misty mood. The geese are precise in shape, concise in style, and focus on the description of facial expression, reflecting the painter's deep realistic modeling ability.
