1984年入伍，现任职于中国人民解放军空军政治部宣传部。

1986年，《花卉》获空十军美术展览一等奖。天津人民美术出版社出版年画二幅《月夜虎啸》、《上、下山虎》。

1987年，山西人民美术出版社出版年画一幅《双虎图》。《山水》作品荣获中国人民解放军空军政治部，两用人才书法美术摄影展览一等奖。

1988年，《双虎图》荣获包头市金鹿文艺创作奖。作品到新加坡、加拿大、马来西亚展出。同年《人民日报》海外版、《解放军报》、《中国青年报》、《空军报》相继为他发表了多篇艺术评论。

1989年，将历时三年创作的《百虎图》捐赠给国家亚运会组委会。

1991年，获全国自学成才优秀人物，主要事迹被选入《中国自学人才荟萃》。

1992年 《五福临门》参加北京市美展，评为北京市优秀作品参加全国美展。

1993年，参加香港举办“十杰”艺术展。

1995年，作品《王者之风》赴韩城参加展览。

2002年，《八面威风》入选纪念中国人民解放军建军七十五周年第十届全军美术作品展览，评为全国美展优秀作品。北京市优秀作品荣誉奖，中国美协收藏。

2004年3月，作品《山鬼》参加中贸圣佳迎春艺术品拍卖会，以8.8万元售出。

2004年6月，作品《王者》参加中贸圣佳春季艺术品拍卖会，以9.9万元售出。

2005年，中国文联《文艺报》、《北京晚报》相继发表了作品、多篇艺术评论。作品《蓝衣少女》参加中贸圣佳春季艺术品拍卖会，以15.4万元售出。

2007年，天津杨柳青美术出版社出版《工笔花卉翎毛画法》。 2007年12月21日，《义之书画报》第49期，出版著名画家谢呈祥作品选。 2007年12月28日，在《荣宝斋》成功的举办历时五年创作《谢呈祥国画展》。荣宝斋美术出版社出版《谢呈祥工笔画集》。

2008年，山东人民美术出版社出版《工笔动物画法》。 2008年1月，作品《相依》、《君临天下》、《惊秋》、《少君图》、《山君》被天津人民美术出版社选入出版名家工笔虎精选集。 2008年1月，作品《松趣》、《小熊猫》、《小幼仔》、《鹿柏长春》被天津人民美术出版社选入出版名家工笔小动物精选集。 2008年4月，作品《国色天香》被天津人民美术出版社选入出版名家工笔牡丹新作精选集。

2009年9月，作品《草莽神威图》、《君临山野》、《相依》、《遥思》、《聆听》等多幅被天津人民美术出版社选入出版《画虎名家》中国当代著名画虎艺术家精选作品集。

近些年来相继有众多作品在国内外获奖并发表，受到美术界一致好评，有的作品作为国礼由国家领导人赠送给外国元首，不少作品被国内外各级博物馆所收藏 

 Xie Chengxiang. Born in Yongkang, Zhejiang Province in 1964, a member of the Communist Party of China. Educational background: Daben, graduated from the PLA Academy of Art. Xie Chengxiang loved art since childhood and was good at Chinese fine brushwork, flowers, birds and characters, especially working tigers and ladies.

He joined the army in 1984 and now works in the Propaganda Department of the Political Department of the Air Force of the People's Liberation Army of China.

In 1986, "Flowers" won the first prize of Air Tenth Army Art Exhibition. Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House has published two New Year pictures, Tiger Xiao on Moon Night and Tiger Up and Down.

In 1987, Shanxi People's Fine Arts Publishing House published a New Year's Picture of Double Tigers. Landscape was awarded the first prize in the exhibition of calligraphy, art and photography for dual-purpose talents by the Political Department of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

In 1988, Shuanghutu won the Baotou Jinlu Literary and Artistic Creation Award. The works were exhibited in Singapore, Canada and Malaysia. In the same year, overseas editions of People's Daily, PLA Daily, China Youth Daily and Air Force Daily published many artistic comments for him.

In 1989, Baihutu, which lasted three years, was donated to the Organizing Committee of the National Asian Games.

In 1991, he was selected as a national self-taught outstanding person, and his main deeds were selected as "China Self-taught Talents Collection".

In 1992, Wufu Linmen participated in Beijing Art Exhibition and was awarded Beijing Excellent Works and participated in the National Art Exhibition.

In 1993, he participated in Hong Kong's "Top Ten" Art Exhibition.

In 1995, the work "The Wind of the King" went to Hancheng to participate in the exhibition.

In 2002, the Eight Faces Wind was selected as the 10th Army Art Exhibition to commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). It was awarded the excellent works of the National Art Exhibition. Beijing Excellent Works Honorary Award, Collection of China Artistic Association.

In March 2004, the work "Mountain Ghost" participated in the Chinese trade Shengjia Yingchun Art Auction and was sold for 88,000 yuan.

In June 2004, the work "The King" participated in the spring art auction of Shengjia in China Trade and sold for 99,000 yuan.

In 2005, the Literature and Art Journal and Beijing Evening News of the Chinese Federation published works and many art reviews. The work "Blue Girl" participated in the Spring Art Auction of Shengjia in China Trade and was sold for 154,000 yuan.

In 2007, Tianjin Yangliuqing Fine Arts Publishing House published Fine Brush Flower Ling Mao Painting Method. On December 21, 2007, No. 49 of Yizhi Painting and Calligraphy Published Selected Works by Xie Chengxiang, a famous painter. On December 28, 2007, a five-year exhibition of Xie Chengxiang's Chinese Paintings was successfully held in Rongbao Zhai. Rongbaozhai Art Publishing House published Xie Chengxiang's Painting Collection.

In 2008, Shandong People's Fine Arts Publishing House published Fine Brushwork Animal Painting Method. In January 2008, the works "Dependence", "Jun Ling the World", "Jingqiu", "Shaojuntu", "Shanjun" were selected by Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House as the selected collection of the famous artist Gongbihu. In January 2008, works Song Yi, Little Panda, Little Baby and Lubai Changchun were selected by Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House as the selected collection of famous artists'fine brushwork and small animals. In April 2008, Tianxiang was selected by Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House as a selection of the new works of famous artist Gongbi Peony.

In September 2009, works such as "Grass and Magic Pictures", "Junlin Mountain and Wilderness", "Dependence", "Distance Thoughts", "Listening" were selected by Tianjin People's Art Publishing House to publish "Painting Tiger Famous Artists" Selected Works of Chinese Contemporary Famous Painting Tiger Artists.

In recent years, many works have been awarded and published at home and abroad, which have received unanimous praise from the art circles. Some works have been presented as national gifts to foreign heads of state by state leaders. Many works have been collected by museums at all levels at home and abroad.
