《羲之爱鹅图》轴,清光绪十六年(1890年),任颐绘,纸本,设色,纵136.2厘米,横66.7厘米。
本幅自题:“光绪庚寅秋七月,山阴任颐写于海上。”钤“任颐伯年”印。鉴藏印钤“钱镜塘鉴定任伯年真迹之印”、“任和尚”。
“庚寅”是清光绪十六年(1890年),作者时年50岁。
此图绘晋代书法家王羲之与童子在桥上观鹅之景。羲之爱鹅的典故出自《晋书·王羲之传》,记王羲之曾经为道士写《道德经》而换取群鹅的故事。
任伯年创作过多幅表现人禽和谐相处、情谊绵绵的《羲之爱鹅图》,此幅是其中的代表作。全图构思巧妙,画作的主角之一鹅半遮半掩浮于水面,它并没有被重点表现,而是通过王羲之专注的目光才使它引人注目,从而形象生动地反映了“羲之爱鹅”的创作主题。

This self-titled picture: "Guangxu Geng Yin in July, Shanyin Renyi wrote on the sea." Jun "Ren Yibonian" seal. "The seal of Qian Jingtang's appraisal of Ren Bonian's authentic works" and "Ren Monk" were collected.
"Geng Yin" is the 16th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1890). The author was 50 years old.
This picture shows Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher of Jin Dynasty, and a boy watching geese on a bridge. The story of Xizhi's love for geese comes from the biography of Wang Xizhi in Jinshu, which records the story of Wang Xizhi who once wrote the Taoist Taoist Book for geese.
Ren Bonian has created many "Xizhi Love Goose Pictures" which show the harmony and friendship between human beings and birds. This is one of his masterpieces. The whole picture is ingeniously conceived. The goose, one of the protagonists in the painting, is half hidden and half floating on the surface of the water. It has not been highlighted, but attracted attention through Wang Xizhi's attentive eyes, thus vividly reflecting the creative theme of "Xizhi's goose".
