图中一对仙鹤姿态优雅,轩昂高洁,在翠竹间怡然自得。画家以工细的笔法描绘仙鹤的形象,高超的技法使笔触融汇于物象之中,仙鹤洁白轻盈的羽毛片片分明,好似浮在画面之上,令观者屏息凝神。仙鹤的头颈与尾羽处则用重墨,再加上鹤顶的一点丹红,格外醒目。画竹以墨笔双勾再施色彩。全幅设色对比鲜明,整体画风是边景昭的典型风格,承继了五代黄筌以及宋代画院花鸟画的富贵品貌,带有浓郁的宫廷气息。

In the picture, a pair of cranes are graceful, noble and comfortable among the green bamboos. The painter depicts the image of the crane with meticulous brushwork. The superb technique makes the brushwork merge into the image. The white and light feathers of the crane are distinct, as if floating on the screen, which makes the viewer hold his breath and gaze. The crane's neck and tail feathers are heavily inked, plus a little red on the top of the crane, which is particularly striking. Painted bamboo is painted with ink and pen. The whole painting style is the typical style of Bian Jingzhao. It inherits the rich features of Huang Qian of the Five Dynasties and flower and bird paintings of the Song Dynasty, with a strong Palace flavor.
