《夕阳欲下图》轴,近现代,傅抱石绘,纸本,浅绛,纵47厘米,横58.5厘米。
本幅自题:“夕阳欲下故迟迟。抱石白下写。”钤“抱石私印”白文方印、“往往醉后”朱文长方印。
此图系据友人钱昌照的诗句“毕竟天公怜远客,夕阳欲下故迟迟”而来。傅抱石与钱昌照在20世纪40年代结识,诗书互答,交谊深厚。
图上描画的是一幅清新可人的山中小景。青峰如障,万松遮天,乱笔皴出的山石大有妩媚之姿。山谷沟壑间浮动的流云为原本略感沉重的山川平添了轻灵的气息。落日余辉将远处的崇山峻岭染成淡淡的金色,令人深深地沉醉其中,乐而忘忧。此图尺幅不大,点画精到,堪为傅、钱二人友谊的见证。

"The setting sun wants to draw below" axis, modern, Fu Baoshi painting, paper, shallow, 47 centimeters in length, 58.5 centimeters in transverse.
The title of this picture is: "It's too late for the setting sun to fall. Write in white with a boulder. Jun "Baoshi Private Seal" in white and Zhu Wenchang "Often drunk" in Chinese.
This picture is based on the poem of friend Qian Changzhao: "After all, the Heavenly Father pities the distant visitors, and the setting sun is late to set". Fu Baoshi and Qian Changzhao got acquainted in the 1940s. They answered each other in poetry and books and had a profound friendship.
The picture depicts a fresh and pleasant mountain landscape. Qingfeng is like a barrier, Wansong covers the sky, and the rocks are charming. Floating clouds between valleys and valleys add a light and spiritual atmosphere to the mountains which are slightly heavy. The sunset afterglow dyes the distant mountains with a pale golden color, which makes people deeply intoxicated and happy and forget their worries. The small size and exquisite stippling make it a testimony of the friendship between Fu and Qian.
