--------Introduction in English--------
Preface to Yumiao Lanting Volume, Tang Dynasty, Yushi Nanmiao, Paper Book, Traveling Book, 24.8 cm in length and 57.7 cm in transverse.
This is essentially white linen paper, which belongs to the Tang Dynasty. Some characters have obvious traces of sketches, and should be copies of the Tang Dynasty. This volume has been regarded as a copy of Chu Suiliang until the Ming Dynasty. In his inscriptions and postscripts, later Dong Qichang thought that it was "like Yongxing" (Yushinan). Later generations renamed it Yushinan copy. Liang Qingbiao in the Qing Dynasty also signed "Linyu Tie of Tang Yushinan" at the beginning of the volume. It is also known as the "Tian Li Ben" because it contains the seal of the Tian Li Nei Fu in the Yuan Dynasty.
This volume is spliced with two pieces of paper, each of 14 rows, arranged more loosely and evenly, near the stone inscription "Dingwu Ben". But the dot-drawing is similar to Chu Suiliang's copy. The dot-drawing is more round and less sharp. The outline of the ink is light and the breath is ancient. According to textual research, this book should be an ancient copy of the Tang Dynasty.
There are 17 inscriptions and postscripts from Song, Ming and Qing dynasties, 104 sheet prints and 5 half-prints. Among them, Zhu Wenyin, the treasure of the Tianli calendar in the former Qianyuan Neifu, and Zhang Jinjie Nu, the small script inscribed under the latter, are all true. The seals of the inner government of the Song Dynasty and the titles of Wei Chang and Yang Yi in the Song Dynasty on the first end of the paper are matched by those of Lianba in the early Ming Dynasty. Later, the inscriptions and postscripts of Ming people on the paper are true.
This volume has been collected by Gaozong Neifu in the Southern Song Dynasty, Tianli Neifu in the Yuan Dynasty, Yang Shishu in the Ming Dynasty, Wu Zhichang, Dong Qichang, Mao Zhisheng, Yang Wan, Feng Quan, Qingliang Qingbiao, Anqi and Qianlong Neifu. He has been recorded in Ming Dong Qichang's Essays on Painting Chan Room, Zhang Uo's Daily Record of True Works, Nanyang Calligraphy Watch, Wang Hanyu's Coral Net Book Record, Qing Wusheng's Daguanlu, Anqi's Moluhuiguan, Ruan Yuan's Essays on Shiqu and Shiqu Baoji's Continuation. The Qing Dynasty inscribed "Eight pillars of Lanting" as the first.
