In the picture, the peaks and mountains rise and fall, the vegetation is lush, the river is vast and far away, fishing boats are in the distance, busy with work. The terraces and pavilions by the mountains and rivers are quiet and pleasant. The whole picture is not won by momentum, but by emotional people. It should depict the scenery of Jiangnan Waterfront that the painter is familiar with. The composition of the picture has a certain realism, which makes people feel cordial. Gao Xiang combines realism with lyricism, integrates the real feelings of the people in his hometown, and depicts a "Peach Blossom Source" full of life interest with light ink.
This picture inherits the traditions of Yuan Dynasty painters Huang Gongwang and Ni Zan in painting method, but it also integrates with each other and has its own style. The stones are all painted in the form of "covered with hemp" and moss. They hardly need to be rendered. Their brushwork is simple and elegant, and their ink is light and elegant, which gives the inspiration of the empty landscape. Most of the trees have twin hooked branches, leaves or circles or dots, and their ink color is clear and moist, showing the moist characteristics of the grass and trees in the south of the Yangtze River. For Mohism, Gao Xiang is known as "cherishing ink like gold". His works are characterized by simplicity, thin, elegance, elegance and quietness, which is also a portrayal of his noble and arrogant character.
