　　扇页有自题：“于陵于陆羽缤纷，岂逐菰蒲野鹜群。昨日秋风看矫翮，一行冲破碧天云。并题为翼翁研长兄清品。苇间居士边寿民。”钤“寿民”白文印、“颐公”朱文印。

　　此图是作者送给友人的画作。图绘两只大雁在芦塘边，欲行又止的情景。边寿民为了画好雁，曾“结茅苇际”，与雁为伍，每日细致观察雁的行、卧、翔各种姿态，故其笔下的大雁，符合解剖学，具有造型生动写实的特点。此图不打图稿，直接以墨或色加以绘制，显示了一定的艺术水准。
