　　扇页有自题：“西溪月棹。临唐子畏本为小眉仁兄观察清赏。丁酉仲秋，钱杜记。”钤“叔美”朱文印。

　　“丁酉”是清道光十七年（1837年），钱杜时年74岁。

　　此图是作者晚年送给同僚的画扇。图绘红衣高士独坐舟头，顺流而下的情景，表现了文人理想的幽居生活。图中人物及舟用笔细密工整，于古拙中流露出灵秀之美，带有文徵明“细笔”风范。两岸郁郁葱葱的树木枝叶在运笔上洒脱奔放，以线条和黑、白墨点错落交织，具有乱头粗服之美。洒脱的笔墨与刻画精微的人物、舟船在尺幅之间形成了有机的互补，相得益彰
