There are 14 poems written by Xu Wei in this volume, including seven by Li Bai, five by Du Fu, one by Wang Wei and one by himself.
This volume has a long length, and has been in a good state of writing from beginning to end. Although not as bold and continuous as cursive script, it is more fluent and free than regular script. Various font shapes, or horizontal inclination, or leaning on the side, are done at will, without affectation, so it is simple and natural. Sometimes, Li Shu's method is also used in drawing and changing strokes, which makes the characters written more ancient and elegant. It is Xu's masterpiece of calligraphy skilled in carrying pens. In the layout and momentum, Mifu's calligraphy has the charm of both Huang and Su's brushwork. The style of Xu Weiping's works is different from that of Xu Weiping's unconstrained and arrogant pen, which seems to be his later works.
