刘文西,1933年生于浙江省嵊州市长乐镇水竹村,当代画家。
1950年在上海进入陶行知先生创办的“育才学校”学习美术,1953年入浙江美术学院,受潘天寿等先生教导,1958年毕业后到西安美院工作至今。
曾任全国文联委员、原中国美术家协会副主席、中国画艺委会委员,全国首批百位名师称号获得者。
现任黄土画派艺术研究院院长、中国当代画派联谊会主席、陕西省美术家协会名誉主席、西安美术学院名誉院长、教授、博士研究生导师,第五套人民币毛泽东画像创作者、陕西省文艺界联合会顾问、全国有突出贡献的专家。 主要作品有《毛主席和牧羊人》、《陕北人》、《东方》、《解放区的天》和巨幅系列长卷《黄土人》等近百幅。
Liu Wenxi, born in Shuizhu Village, Changle Town, Shengzhou City, Zhejiang Province in 1933, is a contemporary painter.In 1950, he entered the School of Education for Talents founded by Mr. Tao Xingzhi in Shanghai to study fine arts. In 1953, he entered Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. He was taught by Mr. Pan Tianshou and others. After graduation in 1958, he has worked in Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts.He was a member of the National Association of Literature and Culture, a former vice-chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, and a member of the Chinese Painting Arts Committee. He was the first batch of 100 famous teachers in China.He is currently the president of the Art Research Institute of the Loess Painting School, the chairman of the Chinese Contemporary Painting Association, the honorary chairman of the Shaanxi Artists Association, the honorary dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, the creator of the fifth set of Renminbi Mao Zedong portraits, the consultant of the Shaanxi Literature and Art Federation, and the national outstanding contribution expert. [1] The main works include Chairman Mao and the Shepherd, People of Northern Shaanxi, Oriental, Heaven in Liberated Areas and Loess Man.
