赵志田 1940年生,汉族,河北省晋州市马于镇前彭头村人。1957年考入中央美术学院附中,1960年毕业后考入中央美术学院国画系,从师叶浅予、蒋兆和、李苦禅、刘凌沧等诸位先生,1965年毕业后即被北京画院吸收为专业画家至今。现为中国美术家协会会员、北京教育学院兼职教授、新华书画院和神州书画院特聘画师、国家一级美术师。

在纪念抗日战争爆发70周年之际,以“时代·深情”为题的赵志田艺术展将于7月7日至13日在中国美术馆隆重举办。遴选展出的国画精品除抗战题材外,还有在中国近现代历史中起着重要作用的人物及事件,如毛泽东、周恩来、宋庆龄、邓小平、齐白石、王进喜等,画家用画笔为时代的主旋乐章奏出了高亢的音符。
生活感受是艺术创作的动力
1962年,尚在美院学习的赵志田来到当年129师驻地的河北涉县深入生活。他与老百姓促膝交谈,追忆往事,推碾子、收庄稼、睡大炕、吃糠菜,点点滴滴的生活感受拉近了他与老百姓的距离,浓厚的乡土乡情激发起他的创作热情,由此他更为深切地意识到作为一名画家所应肩负起的责任感和使命感。之后他又多次来到太行山抗战故地,寻访故人,了解故事,积攒了大量的翔实资料,为以后创作系列历史性题材的作品铺垫了夯实的基础。创作于2005年的史诗性国画长卷《烽火太行》即是他深入生活的例证。作品以叙事的结构描绘出抗战期间太行山民众在中国共产党的领导下团结抗战取得伟大胜利的历史进程,主题鲜明,画面恢弘,情节、细节皆有据可考,这得益于画家对历史的深度发掘;入画的人物多达160位,个性生动,刻画细微,同样得益于画家对生活的观察与思考。《烽火太行》是赵志田里程碑式力作,也是他艺术成就的一个标志。
