张绮曼教授担任系主任的中央工艺美术学院“室内设计系”率先扩大专业，改名为“环境艺术设计系”。继而全国各地相关院校相继设立了环艺专业，招生人数不断扩大。张绮曼教授为环艺专业的基础建设辛勤耕耘，除了在教学、理论研究、教材编撰等专业领域获得了丰硕的成果外，还率先带领师生走出校门开展专业调研，并深入到社会实践中去，参与了我国许多重大工程的设计与施工，得到了社会各界的广泛赞誉。

在中央工艺美术学院合并至清华大学后不久，张绮曼教授调入中央美术学院，建立了“环境艺术工作室”（即第二工作室）。为中央美术学院积极开拓发展环境艺术设计专业，并培养了我国第一代环境艺术专业的博士研究生。

教育部批准的中国第一位环境艺术设计专业博士生导师，中央美术学院．建筑学院教授、博士生导师，中央美术学院学术委员会委员、兼任清华大学美术学院博导、中国艺术研究院博士生导师，张绮曼教授环境艺术工作室主任，中国美术家协会理事、环境设计艺术委员会主任，中国室内装饰协会副理事长、设计委员会主任，中国工业设计协会常务理事、环境设计专业委员会主任，北京市建筑装饰协会设计委员会会长，北京市政协八、九、十届委员，民革中央科教文卫委员、民革北京市委十届委员、十一届、十二届常委。

 1964年 毕业中央工艺美术学院室内设计专业（大学5年）

1964年～1978年 先后在建工部北京工业建筑设计院、北京市建筑设计院任技术员、建筑师

1980年 在中央工艺美术学院硕士学位研究生毕业

1983年～1986年 教育部公派日本留学，在东京艺术大学美术学部环境造型设计研究室任研究员，后聘为客座讲师

1980年～1998年 在中央工艺美术学院先后任职副教授、教授、博导和系主任

1998年～2000年10月 中央工艺美术学院合并至清华大学成立美术学院，任教授、博导

2000年10月 应邀调往中央美术学院

自1986年担任中央工艺美术学院室内设计系主任，后经她申报、国家教育部批准扩大专业为环境艺术设计专业，任系主任共十三年半，是中国环境艺术设计专业设立的创始人和学术带头人。主编大型专业工具书《室内设计资料集》、《室内设计经典集》、《室内设计资料集2》、著有《环境艺术设计与理论》、《室内设计的风格样式和流派》等书，仅《室内设计资料集》已出版发行59.5万余册。并由台湾繁体汉字再版在海外发行。发表专业文章及论文40余篇。在美协环艺委主持出版书籍14本。

在中国首次提出“绿色、多元、创新”的环境艺术设计理念。通过策划举办“为中国而设计”全国环境艺术设计大展及论坛活动，号召中国设计师立足本土，传承中华文化精神和优秀文化遗产，创新设计，为中国的伟大复兴贡献力量！

获国家劳动人事部“有突出贡献的中青年专家”荣誉称号，获教育部、人事部“优秀留学回国人员”荣誉称号、享受国家特殊津贴，获国家级和省部级以上奖励共三十余项。已指导环境艺术设计专业获博士学位19人，有3人在读中，培养了中国第一批环境艺术设计专业博士。

参加及主持大型室内设计建筑装饰项目如：北京人大会堂西藏厅、东大厅、国宾厅、毛主席纪念堂、民族文化宫、北京市政府市长楼、外事接待大厅、北京会议中心、北京饭店、中国国家博物馆等大型室内设计项目四十余项，公共艺术品创作二十余项、自工作以来完成各类设计项目共一百余项。

Zhang Qiman (1941.10 -) alias Zhang Yiman, female, Henan. Professor Zhang Qiman is the founder and academic leader of Chinese environmental art design specialty. Since returning from studying at Tokyo University of Art in 1986, according to the needs of China's construction and development, the Ministry of Higher Education has applied for the establishment of China's environmental art design specialty. In 1988, it was officially approved to add "Environmental Art Design Specialty" to the professional catalogue of Chinese universities.

Professor Zhang Qiman was the head of the Department of Interior Design of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. He took the lead in expanding his major and renamed it the Department of Environmental Art Design. Then the relevant colleges and universities around the country have set up environmental arts specialty, and the enrollment has been expanding. Professor Zhang Qiman worked hard for the basic construction of environmental art specialty. In addition to his fruitful achievements in teaching, theoretical research and textbook compilation, he also took the lead in leading teachers and students out of school to carry out professional research, and went deep into social practice. He participated in the design and construction of many major projects in China, and won wide acclaim from all walks of life.

Shortly after the merger of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts into Tsinghua University, Professor Zhang Qiman transferred to the Central Academy of Fine Arts and established the "Environmental Art Studio" (i.e. the second studio). For the Central Academy of Fine Arts to actively explore and develop the major of environmental art design, and trained the first generation of doctoral students of environmental art in China.

The first doctoral tutor of environmental art and design specialty approved by the Ministry of Education in China is a professor and doctoral tutor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a member of the Academic Committee of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, a doctoral tutor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, a doctoral tutor of the Academy of Fine Arts of China, a director of Professor Zhang Qiman's environmental art studio, a director of the Chinese Artists Association and an art of environmental design Chairman of the Committee, Vice-Chairman of China Interior Decoration Association, Director of Design Committee, Executive Director of China Industrial Design Association, Director of Environmental Design Professional Committee, Chairman of Design Committee of Beijing Building Decoration Association, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Members of Beijing Political Consultative Conference, Committee of Science, Education, Culture and Health of the Central Committee of the People's Revolution, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Standing Committees of Beijing Municipal Committee of the People's Revolution.
