中国国家画院院长、中国美术家协会副主席。1958年生，陕西人，1979年考入西安美院国画系，1983年毕业，同年考上研究生。

主要学著有《告别过去——杨晓阳作品集》、《速写教程》等，主编《西安美院五十年校庆作品集》、《西安美院中青年素描集》、《西安美院五十年论文集》。President of China National Academy of Painting and Vice-President of China Artists Association.
