虞建男，1937年9月生，浙江省慈溪人。南京师范大学美术学院教授。1958年毕业于南京师范大学美术系，擅长中国画、粉画。中国画《鸽子月季》、《报喜》、《陈之佛造像》、《假日里的姑娘》、《浙东乡情》、《进城》等。
粉画《买耳环的姑娘》、《版纳姑娘》、《竹楼少女》、《五彩缤纷》等。年画《我是一个兵》等。多幅作品选送美国、日本、韩国等国展出。为《山羊不吃天堂草》等17部长篇小说创作彩色插图。编写全国中等师范美术教材《绘画》分册中国画、明暗、教学挂图三部分。负责编写江苏省中学美术课本(1-6册)绘画部分。事迹被收入《中国当代美术家辞典》、《中国当代美术家人名录》、《中国当代艺术界名人录》等。
