朱鸣岗先生是我国著名版画家、国画家、书法家。1915年生于安徽凤阳，1934年入苏州美专学习，1939年发表第一幅木刻作品。是抗战时期大后方进步的木刻运动的重要成员之一，作品多次参加全国木刻展，深刻反映了当时底层人民的痛苦与抗争。他曾在福建、香港、台湾等地从事美术教学和创作活动，对当地进步美术事业的发展影响深远。

1947年朱鸣岗先生来到东北解放区，在旅大地区从事美术领导工作，1953年调来鲁迅美术学院，任全院创作教研室领导，开创学院版画事业，建立版画工作室。1958年出任鲁迅美术学院版画系首任系主任，直至“文化革命”前。

朱鸣岗先生曾出席第一、二、三届全国文代会，当选全国美协理事。他对鲁迅美术学院版画系的建设、教学、创作及培养青年教师有重大贡献。他的木版画和中国画创作，充满生活情趣，格调清新、脱俗。代表作有木刻《台湾生活组画》（1947），《万事开头难》（1953），中国画《桐叶双鸡》（1979），等等。

1985年后，朱鸣岗先生离休移居厦门，是著名的文化老人，倍受当地各界尊重，近年来出版国画、书法、诗词等著作多种。

 Zhu Minggang (1915.7-2013.7.4) is a native of Fengyang, Anhui Province. He is good at printmaking and Chinese painting. He joined Suzhou American College in 1934 and participated in the propaganda work of the All-China Woodcarving Anti-enemy Association in 1939. In 1940, he was editor of the Wartime Woodcarving Newspaper of Fujian Improvement Publishing House, and in 1946 he went to Taipei Normal University to teach. In 1948, he went to Hong Kong to attend the World Painting Fair. Professor of Printing Department, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Honorary Professor for Life. Member of China Artists Association.

Mr. Zhu Minggang is a famous printmaker, Chinese painter and calligrapher in China. Born in Fengyang, Anhui Province, in 1915, he studied in Suzhou College of Fine Arts in 1934 and published his first woodcut work in 1939. He was one of the important members of the woodcut movement in the Great Rear Area during the Anti-Japanese War. His works participated in the national woodcut exhibition many times, which deeply reflected the pain and struggle of the people at the bottom of the country at that time. He has been engaged in art teaching and creative activities in Fujian, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other places, which has a far-reaching impact on the development of the local progressive art cause.

In 1947, Mr. Zhu Minggang came to the Northeast Liberated Area to work as an art leader in Luda District. In 1953, he was transferred to Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, where he was the leader of the creative teaching and Research Department of the Academy. He initiated the printmaking cause of the Academy and established the printmaking studio. In 1958, he became the first department director of the Printing Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts until the "Cultural Revolution".

Mr. Zhu Minggang attended the first, second and third national literary congresses and was elected the director of the National Association of Arts. He has made great contributions to the construction, teaching, creation and training of young teachers in the Printing Department of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. His woodcut and Chinese paintings are full of life interest, fresh and refined style. The representative works include woodcut "Taiwanese Life Pictures" (1947), difficult to start everything (1953), Chinese painting "Tongye Double Chicken" (1979), and so on.

After 1985, Mr. Zhu Minggang retired and emigrated to Xiamen. He is a well-known cultural elder, highly respected by the local community. In recent years, he has published many works such as Chinese painting, calligraphy, poetry and so on.
