皮志刚，生于天津河西区，现为中国工艺美术家协会会员，天津民革画院理事，多幅作品被博物馆、画廊、画商、藏家收藏。

自幼酷爱丹青绘事，蒙始就学，晴耕雨读，师从天津著名山水画家赵树松和孙克纲。

赵树松为人谦和厚道，艺术精到，造诣很深。他对皮志刚这个学生格外看好，在当时物质还比较匮乏的年代，他经常出资为学生们买笔买纸买墨，还自掏腰包带领学生们到黄山、泰山、燕山、太行山、翠华山等地去写生，在写生中，无私并毫无保留地把自己所有掌握的绘画知识都传授给了自己的学生们，使皮志刚受益匪浅，他的山水画技日积月累提高的很快。

孙克纲是一个正直、朴实、善良，造诣很深的国画大师，他坚持将古人与师造化统一起来，深入实际生活，以开阔的胸襟投入到艺术实践之中，他的山水画灵动飘逸，磅礴大气，别具一格，尤其在泼墨技法上有特殊的贡献，自成一家。皮志刚在孙克纲的指导下，先为人，后为画家，他读万卷书，走万里路，从一棵树、一块石头、一条小溪学起，临摹古代各个名家之作，从局部到整幅，从整幅再到局部，寻求和强化自己笔墨语言的个性化追求，他博采众长，画技不断增长。
