林阳，别署墨随堂主人，1958年生于北京，1982年毕业于北京师范学院中文系（今首都师范大学），历任编辑室主任、期刊主编、报刊社总编辑，现任中国美术出版总社总编辑、人民美术出版社总编辑，编审。中国书法家协会理事、中国美术家协会理事、中国作家协会会员。北京文史研究馆馆员，民进中央开明画院副院长、北京民进画院院长。

长期从事美术图书的编辑工作和出版社的管理工作，组织和担纲多项国家重大美术出版工程，如《中国美术百科全书》、《中国碑刻全集》、《国家重大历史题材美术创作工程作品集》等。著有《左编辑，右营销》《编辑视界》《北总布胡同32号——人民美术出版社的老艺术家们》（一、二）《林阳诗草百首》《笔墨随心——林阳诗书作品集》《君子之风——林阳书法作品集》等。

自幼随祖父习字，从少年始，在父亲——书画家林锴的指导下研习书法篆刻艺术。尤喜魏碑、黄道周《孝经》、泰山经石峪《金刚经》、《西峡颂》、汉简等。

He has been the director of editorial office, editor-in-chief of periodicals, editor-in-chief of newspapers and periodicals, editor-in-chief of China Fine Arts Publishing Agency and editor-in-chief of People's Fine Arts Publishing House. Director of China Calligrapher Association, Director of China Artists Association and Member of China Writers Association. Librarian of Beijing Museum of Literature and History, Vice President of Kaiming Painting Academy of Minjin Central Committee and President of Minjin Painting Academy of Beijing.

He has been engaged in the editing of art books and the management of publishing houses for a long time. He has organized and sponsored many major national art publishing projects, such as Encyclopedia of Chinese Fine Arts, Complete Works of Chinese Stele Inscriptions, Collection of Works of National Major History Art Creation Engineering, etc. His works include Left Editor, Right Marketing, Editor's Vision, 32 North Buhutong, Old Artists of People's Art Publishing House (1 and 2), Hundred Poems and Grasses of Lin Yang, Poetry and Calligraphy Works of Lin Yang, Gentleman's Wind, Calligraphy Works of Lin Yang, etc.

From childhood, he learned to write with his grandfather, and from childhood, he studied the art of calligraphy and seal carving under the guidance of his father, Lin Kai, a painter and calligrapher. You Xiwei stele, Huangdao Zhou Xiaojing, Taishan Jingshiyu Diamond Sutra, Xixia Song, Han bamboo slips and so on.

He is currently the director of the Chinese Artists Association, the director of the Chinese Calligrapher Association and the member of the Chinese Writers Association. The deputy director of the fine arts Editorial Committee of the Chinese Editorial Association, the Secretary-General of the fine arts Working Committee of the Chinese Printing Association, the Secretary-General of the comic strip art committee, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Culture and other ten ministries appointed the expert committee of the "Joint Inter-ministerial Meeting to Support the Development of the Animation Industry" and the vice-chairman of the comic strip branch of the Oriental Cultural Research Association.
