 1982年07月毕业于安徽大学哲学系。

1982年07月至1991年04月在安徽省委宣传部工作，历任副科级巡视员、正科级巡视员；

1991年04月至2001年09月历任安徽省文联办公室副主任、主任。期间，1994年11月至1996年11月挂职任安徽省利辛县委副书记。

2001年09月任安徽省文联书记处书记、党组成员；

2006年10月任安徽省文联副主席、书记处书记、党组成员；

2010年02月挂职任滁州市人民政府副市长。

2014年12月27日，吴雪当选为安徽省文学艺术界联合会主席。

2016年11月，当选中国文学艺术界联合会第十届全委会委员。 

 吴雪在70多年的艺术生涯中，在舞台、银幕上创造了数十个栩栩如生的艺术形象;导演了20多部中外戏剧。创作导演并演出了《抓壮丁》，导演了《傀儡之家》《雷雨》《伪君子》《上海屋檐下》等剧。先后导演了《娜拉》、《莎恭达罗》、《豹子湾战斗》等10多个剧目，并在《钢铁是怎样炼成的》、《万尼亚舅舅》、《文成公主》等剧目和电影《风景》、《白求恩大夫》中扮演主要角色。

 在安徽书坛，吴雪是一位让人瞩目的书法家。人们评价他的书作有一股空灵的意蕴，一袭超逸的宁静，一种纯粹的美意。他谦逊、温文儒雅，他重视书艺，更重视人品。吴雪的书法作品充溢着浓郁的书卷气，达到了雄浑与典雅的统一，刚柔相济，美而不俗，秀而不媚，深受人们喜爱。

他还在书法艺术理论研究和实践中从不懈怠，笔耕不辍，曾与同仁主编出版了《书法新论》和《书法新探》，在书法界产生了较大影响。

在他担任省文联领导期间，成功承办了世界艺术家大会，中国“兰亭书法大赛”。同时，他重视文艺新人的培养，在安徽文艺界有着很好的口碑。

 Wu Xue, male, Han nationality, born in July 1959, is from Mengcheng, Bozhou City, Anhui Province. He is a director of the Chinese Calligrapher Association and a member of the Creation Committee of the Chinese Calligrapher Association. Joined the Party in July 1982 and joined the Party in December 1984 with a university degree. He was once Vice-Chairman of Anhui Calligraphy Association, Vice-Chairman of Calligraphy and Painting Association of Anhui Provincial Organs and Vice-Chairman of Anhui Youth Calligraphy Association.

He graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Anhui University in July 1982.

From July 1982 to April 1991, he worked in the Propaganda Department of the Anhui Provincial Committee. He was successively a vice-section inspector and a regular section inspector.

From April 1991 to September 2001, he served as Deputy Director and Director of the Office of Anhui Provincial Literary Union. During the period from November 1994 to November 1996, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Lixin County Party Committee of Anhui Province.

In September 2001, he was appointed Secretary of the Secretariat and member of the Party Leadership Group of the Anhui Cultural Federation.

In October 2006, he served as Vice-Chairman, Secretary of the Secretariat and Member of the Party Group of Anhui Provincial Literary Union.

In February 2010, he was appointed Vice Mayor of Chuzhou People's Government.

On December 27, 2014, Wu Xue was elected Chairman of Anhui Literature and Art Association.

In November 2016, he was elected a member of the 10th Plenary Committee of the Chinese Federation of Literature and Art Circles.

Life Achievements

In his 70 years of art career, Wu Xue has created dozens of vivid artistic images on stage and screen, directed more than 20 Chinese and foreign dramas. He created and performed "Catching the Strong Ding", directed "Puppet House", "Thunderstorm", "Hypocrite", "Under the eaves of Shanghai" and other plays. He has directed more than 10 plays such as Nala, Shagondaro and Battle of Leopard Bay, and has played major roles in such plays as How Steel Was Made, Uncle Vanya, Princess Wencheng, Scenery and Doctor Bethune.

Wu Xue is a remarkable calligrapher in Anhui calligraphy circle. People evaluate his book as having an empty and spiritual connotation, a transcendent tranquility and a pure beauty. He is modest, gentle and elegant. He attaches great importance to calligraphy and art, but also to personality. Wu Xue's calligraphy works are full of rich voluminous spirit, which achieves the unity of vigor and elegance. They are hard and soft, beautiful but not vulgar, beautiful but not charming, and are deeply loved by people.

He has never been slack in the theoretical research and practice of calligraphy art. He and his colleagues edited and published New Theory of Calligraphy and New Exploration of Calligraphy, which has had a great influence in the calligraphy circle.

During his leadership of the Provincial Culture Federation, he successfully hosted the World Artists'Congress, Lanting Calligraphy Competition in China. At the same time, he attaches great importance to the cultivation of literary and artistic novices, and has a good reputation in the literary and artistic circles of Anhui.
