东方涂钦，艺术家。1967年出生于山东临沂，1990年毕业于山东大学。任全国青联委员，中央国家机关青联常委，中国报纸副刊研究会副会长等职。在艺坛上东方涂钦是一个很独特的现象，他是一位诗意的游走者，在文化、艺术等几个界限不同的领域轻逸出入，均有着可圈可点的成就。但他自称其作品“无艺无术”，是一位“三事两业”的票友、一位现代涂鸦者，日常关于艺术的基本动作是“面向艺术，背向艺坛”。
他虽自小习书，但从上世纪九十年代中期才开始进行现代水墨的创作，后逐渐转入油画和架上综合材料与技法的创作探索，艺术风格独树一帜，许多作品被国内外馆藏，并广泛为国内外名流政要等艺术爱好者收藏，同时有大量复制品进入平民家庭。他是公共空间展览的积极推动者，2002年7月曾举办北京首届电梯艺术展，在北京几百家中高档公寓、写字楼的3000多个电梯候梯间以及地铁等地方展览作品，历时三年多时间，引起社会广泛关注，由此引导了当下展览方式的革命，并使现代艺术最广泛地走向了普通人群。同时在法国、韩国、日本等国内外许多地方举办展览。代表作品有《我非我》系列、《我的中国红》系列、《我的中国蓝》系列、《中国涂鸦志》系列、《唐人书写》系列等。
因其独特的创作风格和卓然有成的文化影响力，他曾荣获多类文化艺术奖项，2004年曾被中华英才、联合国教科文组织等十几家组织机构联合推举为年度“十大艺术英才”、2008年曾被国家新闻出版署评为中国新闻出版界领军人物等；他的现代诗歌作品《祈求幸福》还被选入大学语文课本；文化、艺术、哲学、传媒甚至法律等不同的领域对他均有着积极评价。
近年来东方涂钦出版的主要诗书画艺术著作有《在垃圾中被春光唤醒的风信子》、《非常男女、非常水墨》、《唐人书写与小纸人的碎片》、《心象》等。
