周方白(1906～2001)，上海南汇人。画家、学者。自幼随祖父学习绘画。1932年赴欧，进巴黎国立高等美术学院，因雕刻精妙曾获比利时皇家金奖章．加入比利时皇家美术学会。1936年被录入美国加州大学《中国名画家录》。回国后，曾先后任中央大学、圣约翰大学、国立艺术专科学校等校教授。现为同济大学教授、上海市文联委员、中国美术家协会会员、上海市欧美同学会书画之友社名誉社长、上海市文史馆馆员。著有《绘画基本理论》《(英法中美术词汇》《c西方雕刻简解》等。
周方白学名周圭，于1933年在比利时与同学陆传纹结婚。夫妇俩人称“四同”优俪：同龄，同出生于1906年；同校，上世纪30年代词为巴黎国立高等美术学院学生，l952年后同为同济大学教授；同业，共同从事美术专业；同馆，同被聘为上海市文史研究馆馆员。夫妻俩由于情趣相同，分外恩爱，乃从两人的名字中各取一字，命书斋为“圭纹楼”。
楼中挂着周方白的墨竹图，陆传纹的水仙画。夫妇俩在圭纹楼中，艺术上共同切磋，互相指点，生活上患难与共，相濡以沫。两人曾先后共同举行过11次书画展，幸福美满地度过了60多年。著名书法家苏局仙是周方自70多年前的老师。苏局仙百岁那年，夫妇俩在圭纹楼，为老师画像祝寿，各自施展技艺。周方自画的是素描，陆传纹作的是油画。图画珠联壁合。苏局仙接茴后欣喜万分，曾题词一首日：“赵管风流复见今，及门诸子有谁论。八旬双庆人难忘，永住遐龄岁月新。”把他俩比作元代夫妻画家赵孟頫与管道升。
后至周浦第三小学学习，尔后，至上海大同学院深造。幼年受祖椿颐公画竹熏陶，为写竹启蒙。民国16年（1927年）春，到南洋马六甲培风学校、苏门答腊棉兰华商学校、先达中华学校执教。民国19年（1930年）春，和夫人陆传纹一起进入巴黎国立高等美术学院学习绘画。民国21年（1932年），作品于沙龙展览会之法国艺术家协会展出。民国22年（1933年）春，到比利时比京皇家美术学院学习绘画雕塑，获得雕塑比皇金牌奖、油画二等奖、石刻一等奖、解剖学及透视学一等奖，并为比皇家美术协会会员。
民国24年（1935年）8月回国后，历任苏州美专、武昌艺专、中山文化教育馆研究员，中央大学国立艺专、上海圣约翰大学、同济大学教授，并曾在重庆、泸州、成都、上海、无锡等地与陆传纹一起举行过10次夫妇画展。
解放后，周方白一直为上海同济大学教授，并为中国美术家协会会员、上海市文史馆馆员、南汇书画会顾问、中国民主同盟盟员。周方白的著述有《周圭素描集》、《绘画基本理论》、《素描实践讲话》、《英法中美术词汇》（与陆合编）、《西方雕刻欣赏》（与陆合编）、《雕塑技法浅述》等。
2001年8月，周方白因病逝世。
