张维宁，男，汉族，祖籍甘肃兰州，1953年生。1984年进修结业于中央美院雕塑系，师从著名雕塑家钱绍武、曹春生、董祖冶等先生。1987年获全国城市雕塑建设指导委员会“城市雕塑创作设计资格证书”。曾先后任青海工艺美术厂总工艺师、青海雕塑设计院院长、青海省工艺美术协会秘书长、青海省文化厅工艺美术保护管理办公室副调研员。

2主要代表作品，成就及荣誉
长期从事雕塑创作和工艺美术作品研究设计，其主要代表作品《歌》、《骄子》、《庄稼汉》、《雏鹰》、《沃土》、《魂系雪域—十世班禅大师纪念像》、《在那遥远的地方》、《保卫黄河》、《可可西里护羊人》等数十件作品入选参加省市及全国美展、国际艺术展。创作近百件工艺石雕、木雕、彩塑、金属工艺等作品入选省内及全国工艺美术作品展览展销会。主要代表作品有《罗汉系列》、《民族族人物系列》、《藏传佛教彩绘脸谱》《高原野生动物》《器皿》等。其中部分作品在展览中获奖、收藏，并入编展览画册及报刊杂志上发表。
多年来，先后在省内外设计建立数十件城市雕塑，主要代表作品有：大型花岗岩石雕塑《中国工农红军西路军烈士群雕》、不锈钢雕塑《雏鹰》、青海省海南州《抗震救灾纪念碑》、大型汉白玉雕《文成公主》、《孙中山先生纪念铜像》等。

1992年由青海电视台拍摄的《张维宁和他的雕塑艺术》专题片，先后在省电视台、中央电视台及省外12家电视台相继播出。2000年由青海省美协雕塑艺术委员会、省建设厅城市雕塑建设指导委员会、省工艺美术学会联合编印了《张维宁雕塑艺术》作品选。
个人作品艺术成就先后编入《中国雕塑年鉴》、《中国美术家辞典》、《中国当代艺术界名人录》、《中国高级人才辞典》、《中国工艺美术大师作品暨精品画册》、《中国旅游工艺美术纪念品画册》、《中国体育美术作品画册》、《中国雕塑五十年》等十余部大型辞典、展览画册。
