温廷宽，别名景博、井白，满族，北京人。研究员，1919年8月生，卒于1997年9月1日。共产党员。1940年毕业于北京艺术专科学校雕塑系。曾任北京师范大学、北京艺专、京华美专、南京中央大学教育学院导师、讲师、教授，文物出版社第一编辑组组长，1962年到中国美术研究所。先后任中国艺术研究院美术研究所副所长、《美术史论》副主编、院学位委员会委员、博士研究生导师。《中国大百科全书·美术》卷编委，大足石刻研究学会顾问，乐山大佛综合整治委员会顾问。自青年时期起，钻研金石学方面的著作，对形肖印的研究较为深入，主要侧重石窟雕塑艺术研究。对我国雕塑艺术发展问题，提出自己的看法，所写专著受到美术专业者的重视。在研究中，注重知识的传播，自50年代以来，作过多次专题讲学，有美学、雕塑、篆刻玺印几方面。并去日本和印度进行考察。曾负责两届硕士研究生、一届博士生的培养。
主要成果：《篆刻学讲义》(3万字)，艺专讲课用；《中国北部石窟雕塑艺术》(3万字)，1956年人民美术出版社出版，被列为《世界美术大系》(日文)参考书之一；《大足石刻》(2．5万字)，1958年文物出版社出版；《中国古代绘画故事》(10万字)，1984年文化艺术出版社出版；《王建墓石刻艺术》(3万字)，1985年四川人民出版社出版；《四川佛教摩崖造像的艺术价值及现状》(4万字)，1957年《现代佛学》连载；《几种有关金属工艺的传统技术方法》(4万字)，载于1958年《文物参考资料》；《玺印探源》(2万字)，载于1980年《文艺研究》；《中国石窟寺雕塑艺术》(1万字)，载于1984年《美术史论》。另外发表其他文章数十篇，共计20余万字。
