王建山，男，汉族，1956年5月生于贵州，祖籍山西太原。1983年毕业于西南师范大学美术系、1986年结业于中央美术学院版画系。现为贵州民族大学美术学院院长、教授、硕士生导师。中国美术家协会会员、中国美术家协会版画艺术委员会委员、贵州省文学艺术界联合会委员、贵州省美术家协会副主席，贵州省省管专家、享受省政府特殊津贴、贵州省先进工作者。
版画作品曾获第九届全国美展铜奖、第十一届全国美展获奖提名，第十四届全国版展铜奖、第十六届全国版展优秀奖、青岛国际版画双年展银奖。中国80·90年代优秀版画家“鲁迅版画奖”，贵州省首届政府文艺奖·荣誉奖，作品二十余次入选全国美展及国际版画双年展，作品被中国美术馆、国家画院、澳大利亚新南威尔士美术博物馆、美国旧金山亚洲博物馆、江苏美术馆、广东美术馆、四川美术馆、以及贵阳、青岛、深圳、哈尔滨、合肥、观澜等美术馆收藏。出版有《王建山版画集》。
