陕西岐山人。擅版画。新疆乌鲁木齐军校政治部。1962年毕业于陕西省西安艺术师范，从师于修军、张建文先生学习版画，1962年参加中国人民解放军，在军内从事文化、宣传、教学、版画创作。1986年转业到新疆画院，现为中国美术家协会会员、中国版画家协会理事，中国藏书票研究会会员、新疆美术家协会理事、新疆版画研究会副会长兼秘书长，新疆画院副院长，一级美术师。
作品入选第四、五、七、八、九届全国美展；六、七、八、十、十二、十四届全国版画展，多次参加全军美展；第一届至八届全国藏书票展及多次全国行业美展；第二十五、二十六、二十七届国际藏书票展和邀请展。《戍边》、《乐在天涯》等作品曾在全国获奖。中国美术馆、民族文化宫、四川美术馆、广州美术馆、神州版画博物馆先后收藏其作品近百幅。数十件作品在日本、新加坡、意大利、美国、加拿大、法国、德国、立陶宛、俄罗斯、捷克等国家及港、澳、台地区展出，其中数百件作品被国外艺术博物馆和个人收藏。被授予对新疆美术事业有突出贡献的“金驼奖”，被授予中国优秀版画家鲁迅版画奖。版画《这样训练好》、《乐在天涯》曾获全军、全国优秀作品奖、并被中国美术馆收藏。出版有《于文雅藏书票选》、《于文雅版画选》。?
