梅凯，1946年11月生于天津，1966年毕业于西安美院附中，后曾任西安新华印刷厂工会干部、中学教师。现任四川美术家协会理事，四川中国画研究院副院长，中国美术家协会会员，中国画坛百杰画家。
曾荣获“迎接‘97香港回归中国书画作品大奖赛”人物画优秀奖，“第二届王子杯海峡两岸书画大赛”金奖，“海峡两岸著名书画家精品展”荣誉奖，中国文学艺术界联合会授予“’97中国画坛百杰”称号。作品曾收入大型画册《四川省优秀美术作品集》《四川省诗书画院建院二十周年纪念册》《巴蜀情韵》《97中国画坛百家作品集》等，个人传略收入《中国当代艺术界名人录》。
梅凯先生，专业勤勉，时代大潮中磨砺，数十年丹青历程，卓著的成绩，证实了中国画家是这样炼成的。勤勉，是态度、行动，更是境界。梅凯对中西绘画的认知，体现勤勉的广度；创作时中西技法的交汇应用，体现勤勉的深度。认知和技法又开启了画体的多样：油画、版画、中国画、连环画，直至工艺创意、广告设计、环艺规划……全方位的美术实践也形成了画家的大美术观。

梅凯先生以辛勤的劳作，真切的情怀，豁达的胸襟，与时俱进，为时代添彩，受到广泛赞誉。
2创作历程
1979年~1980年从事连环画创作，出版有连环画《李自成》《三国演义》等多部，并获陕西省第一届连环画优秀奖。
1987年创作《武则天悔失贤才》由陕西唐代艺术博物馆陈列，收藏。
1992年~1997年先后在海口、成都、青岛、重庆举办个展。
1997年荣获中国文联、中国美协颁发的“’97中国画坛百杰画家”称号。
1998年完成巨型国画《吉祥如意》，十一世班禅在京为此画题词。中央电视台、四川省、市电视台、《光明日报》《四川日报》《成都晚报》《商报》《华西都市报》对此作专题报道。创作国画《决战时刻》，由省委、省政府代表全川人民赠送给中国人民解放军总政
治部，作品由军事博物馆收藏。版画《堤》参加“第十四届全国版画展”获金奖。国画《雪域之子》入选中国美术家协会举办的“时代风采·全国写生画展”。
2004年出版《曹魏》《刘蜀》《孙吴》大型丛书《图说三国》。
2008年创作组画《多难兴邦》《大爱无边》《敬礼娃娃》参加赈灾拍卖会，所得款项20万元捐献灾区。
2009年于四川博物院举办个人画展。并出版画册《梅凯o2009》。
《梅凯o2009》梅凯自序：
“前些年在北京忙碌，回到成都就一头栽到画室里。在成都经常与朋友聚到一起，谈诗论画，好友们鼓励我出本画册，朋友们的盛情，令我感慨，这不仅是对我的勉励和期望，也是好友们的一份真诚。习画多年实在是拿不出什么东西，只好赶画了些，又借回了些，就这样张罗起来。
看到画册清样，见到印刷到纸上的作品，心情很复杂，总感有些缺憾和不足的地方。好在朋友们建议，书名叫《梅凯o2009》，就算是过去了的小结。那些缺憾和不足，有待在将来的2010、2012、2013……去努力提高。气有浩然，学无止境。
