巴玛扎西（1961.11—）别名张西新，藏族，西藏拉萨人。擅长版画。西藏美术家协会干部。中国美术家协会会员，高级美术师，西藏自治区政协委员。1984年调入西藏美协工作至今。作品有水粉画《五彩路》、西藏布画《彩云图》(合作)、木刻插图《西藏民间故事》等。作品曾参加第六届全国美、第二届加拿大枫叶奖国际水墨画展，获第二届西藏珠穆朗玛文艺基金奖并在巴黎、吉隆坡举办个展。
巴玛扎西西藏著名画家，藏族，1961年生于日喀则，养路工人的后代，读完初中便参加工作开卡车。巴玛扎西的家，北面是著名的哲蚌寺，南面是驻军汽车团，他即拜喇嘛为师傅，又拜当兵的为美术老师。每当星期天，他便或是随美术老师写生、临摩，或是帮老喇嘛师傅干杂务。从而巴玛扎西于1984年调美办工作的当年，便创作出“五彩路”和“彩云图”（合作）这些有诗意且生活气息扑面盈杯的作品。以后他有机会跑遍大半个西藏，并去北京、上海等大都市参观学习和生活创作。1990年后三次应邀巴黎参加亚洲艺术展。画风也随之具象与抽象结合，变得更加神秘诡异，并向富有力度与节奏的方向扩展。　
巴玛扎西曾说：“我认为画画只表现一种过程，就是一个旅行者或探险者的过程，不一定有什么发现或成就。来到这里，本身就是一种意义。我以前有各种各样的想法，是艺术这块磨石磨练了我。把我的欲望磨掉了，剩下的就是生命的过程。”
