董其中(1935-),江西省泰和县人。国家一级美术师(教授),现任中国版画家协会常务理事、山西省美术家协会名誉主席、中国藏书票研究会理事等。1958年毕业于北京艺术师范学院美术系,尔后在山西艺术学院、山西大学艺术系任教。1965年后在山西省美术家协会工作,历任山西省文联副主席(1988-1998)、山西省美协副主席(1980-1988)、山西省美协主席(1988-1998)、中国美术家协会常务理事(1985-1998)。

1979年、1996年分别出席第4、6次全国文代大会:1979年、1985年、1998年分别出席中国美协第3、4、5次代表大会,当选为中国美协四届常务理事和理事:1980年、1986年、1995年分别出席中国版画家协会成立大会和第2、3次代表大会,分别当选为理事和2、3届常务理事。
1962年加入中国美协为会员。1954年开始版画创作以来,41件作品入选30多个全国性美术展览,30多件作品被选送联合国及30多个国家和地区展出。1998年10月,由中国美协、中国版画家协会、山西省文联、山西省美协在北京中国美术馆主办《董其中版画展》。《秋暮》获第9届全国版画展优秀作品奖,并获山西省第2届文艺评奖特别奖,藏书票获全国藏书票专题展金奖。主要代表作《山村秋景》、《山村晨曲》、《晒玉米》、《排演新节目》等分别选入《中国新文艺大系》(美术卷一、二集)、《中国美术五十年》、《中国新兴版画五十年选集》、《中国现代美术大全》《20世纪中国美术----中国美术馆藏品精选》等中外10多种大型画集出版,并分别为国内外30多个美术馆等部门收藏。1984年、1998年分别由上海人民美术出版社、山西人民出版社出版《董其中版画选》。
发表美术评论和散文140多篇,其中20多篇发表于《美术》、《人民日报》等全国报刊,数篇选入文集和年鉴出版。
曾分别担任第6、8届全国美展和第10届全国版画展评委,还曾担任山西省艺术、群众文化、工艺美术专业高级技术职务评委。
1986年作为文化部派遣的中国美术家代表团成员参加柏林版画双年展活动,并访问民主德国;1992年任团长率山西省版画家代表团访问日本。
主要艺术业绩已载入三部中国现代版画史专著及国内外多种名录和年鉴。
1986年第九届全国版画展优秀作品奖;
1994年第八届全国美展优秀作品奖、山西省第二届文艺评奖特别奖、全国藏书票专题展金奖等;
1991年被评为山西省首批优秀专家;
1992年获国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴、山西优秀文艺工作者称号;
1996年获“鲁迅版画奖”。
He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Beijing Normal University of Art in 1958, and later taught in the Department of Art of Shanxi Art College and Shanxi University. After 1965, he worked in Shanxi Artists Association. He was successively Vice-Chairman of Shanxi Arts Federation (1988-1998), Vice-Chairman of Shanxi Arts Association (1980-1988), Chairman of Shanxi Arts Association (1988-1998), and Executive Director of China Artists Association (1985-1998).
In 1979 and 1996, he attended the 4th and 6th National Congresses of Literature and Dynasties respectively: in 1979, 1985 and 1998, he attended the 3rd, 4th and 5th National Congresses of the Chinese Association of Artists, and was elected the 4th Standing Director and Director of the Chinese Association of Artists: in 1980, 1986 and 1995, he attended the founding Congress of the Chinese Association of Printers and the 2nd and 3rd National Congresses respectively. They were elected to the Board of Directors and the 2nd or 3rd Standing Board of Directors.
In 1962, he joined the Chinese Association of Arts as a member. Since the beginning of printmaking in 1954, 41 works have been selected for more than 30 national art exhibitions, and more than 30 works have been selected for exhibition in the United Nations and more than 30 countries and regions. In October 1998, Dong Zhong's Print Exhibition was hosted by the Chinese Association of Arts, the Chinese Print Artists Association, the Shanxi Provincial Literary Union and the Shanxi Provincial Association of Arts in Beijing China Art Museum. "Autumn Dusk" won the 9th National Print Exhibition Excellent Works Award, and the 2nd Shanxi Province Literature and Art Award Special Award, and the National Book Ticket Special Exhibition Gold Award. The main representative works "Mountain Village Autumn Scenery", "Mountain Village Morning Music", "Sunning Corn", "New Program rehearsal" were selected into "New Chinese Literature and Art Series" (Volume 1 and 2), "Fifty Years of Chinese Fine Arts", "Fifty Years Selection of Emerging Chinese Prints", "Modern Chinese Fine Arts Complete" and "20th Century Chinese Fine Arts--China". Selected Collections of Art Museums and more than 10 large-scale collections at home and abroad have been published and collected by more than 30 art museums at home and abroad. In 1984 and 1998, "Selected Prints of Dong Zhong" were published by Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House and Shanxi People's Publishing House respectively.
He published more than 140 art reviews and essays, of which more than 20 were published in national newspapers and magazines such as Fine Arts and People's Daily, and several were selected for publication in anthologies and yearbooks.
He served as the judges of the 6th and 8th National Art Exhibitions and 10th National Print Exhibitions respectively, and also served as the senior technical judges of arts, mass culture and arts and crafts in Shanxi Province.
In 1986, as a member of the delegation of Chinese artists dispatched by the Ministry of Culture, he participated in the Berlin Print Biennial and visited Democratic Germany. In 1992, he was the head of the delegation and led the delegation of Shanxi Print Artists to visit Japan.
The main artistic achievements have been included in three Monographs on the history of modern Chinese printmaking and various catalogues and yearbooks at home and abroad.

In 1992, he was awarded a special government allowance by the State Council and the title of outstanding literary and artistic workers in Shanxi Province.
In 1996, he won the Luxun Print Award.
