陈延:江苏泰县人。1940年生于陕西延安。擅长版画、连环画。1963年西安美术学院毕业。1978年考入西安美院版画系研究生。
作品有《斯诺西行》、《看电影》、《把青春献给四化》等。从事美术创作及美术教育五十多年。绘画作品丰富多样，在多次国内外展览中获奖，作品为国家或私人收藏，入编《中国美术全集》、《中国百年版画》、《建国六十年版画集》等由中国美协主编的大型画册多种，荣获中国版画协会“鲁迅版画奖”，出版绘画教材、专著多种，曾就职西安美术学院、汕头大学艺术学院，先后任系主任、院长等职务。现为汕头市美术家协会艺术委员会主任、汕头中国画院副院长、中国美术家协会会员。
专著《道法自然》收入从艺五十年来所著艺术文论一百余篇，美术作品三百余幅，从理论与实践两方面展示了画家美术创作和艺术观念的创新的特质。

Chen Yan: from Tai county, Jiangsu Province. Born in Yan'an, Shaanxi Province in 1940. Good at printmaking and comics. Graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1963. In 1978, he was admitted to Xi'an Academy of fine arts.

His works include "Snow's journey to the west", "watching movies", "giving youth to the four modernizations", etc. Engaged in art creation and art education for more than 50 years. The painting works are rich and diverse, winning awards in many exhibitions at home and abroad. The works are collected by the state or private. There are many large-scale picture albums edited by China Art Association, such as the complete works of Chinese fine arts, the one hundred year print of China, and the 60 year print of the founding of the people's Republic of China. They have won the "Lu Xun print Award" of China print Association, published many painting textbooks and monographs, and worked in Xi'an Academy of fine arts School of art, Shantou University, successively served as the dean and Dean of the Department. Now, he is the director of Art Committee of Shantou Artists Association, vice president of Shantou Chinese Academy of painting and member of China Artists Association.

In the past 50 years, the monograph "Daofa nature" has received more than 100 art essays and more than 300 art works. It shows the innovative characteristics of artists' art creation and artistic concept from both theory and practice.
