康宁，1950年生于四川江安。1982年毕业于四川美术学院。现任四川美术学院教授、中国美协会员、中国版画家协会理事、重庆市美术家协会副主席。主要获奖作品有：第六届全国美术作品展览（1984）优秀作品奖。第七届全国美展（1989）银奖。“第十届全国版画家”（1990）铜奖。“中国版画版种大展，全国第五届三版展”（1993）银奖。“第九届全国美术作品展览”（1999）优秀作品奖。“第十届全国版画展”（2000）铜奖。1999年获中国版画家协会颁发优秀版画家“鲁迅版画奖”。作品曾多次赴英国、法国、德国、日本及港澳等参加国际展览。作品曾被中国美术馆、英国大英博物馆、上海美术馆、广东美术馆、深圳美术馆、鲁迅博物馆、神州版画博物馆等国内外文化机构和个人收藏。代表作有：《夜与昼》、《泉》、《少女和羊》、《新松》、《生命.树》（系列）、《琴》、《苞米扬花》、《《眺望》《飞翔》、《奔马》、巨幅作品《延续的片段》（六联）等。已出个集《康宁速写集》、《康宁黒白木刻》。曾在深圳美术馆等展馆及各类画廊举办过多次作品个展。艺术创作实践的同时，康宁在诸多论文中提出的艺术创作需要“极端”、“偏执”与“拒绝平庸”等观念，对于推动新时期中国版画创作起重要的积极作用。在教学中，成果突出，多次获得先进表彰，带动影响了大批学子。可以说，康宁的艺术创作一直处于当代版画艺术创作的学术前沿。是新兴版画与黑白版画优秀传统承上启下的继承者和开拓者，是目前国内黑白木刻创作当之无愧的领军人物。
