陈更新（1924-）别名田野，广西贺州市人。陈更新历任中国美术家协会广西分会常务副主席、桂林市文联副主席、桂林市美协主席、桂林画院副院长、中国书画函授大学桂林分校常务副校长、广西诗书画金石研究会副会长、广西石涛艺术研究学会副会长、桂林市东方绘画研究会名誉会长。是中国美术家协会和中国版画家协会会员、国家一级美术师。作品有《失业·饥饿之群》、《好苗苗》、《万点桂山尖》等。
中学时参加抗日漫画木刻组，绘制宣传画，刻印木刻传单，投入抗战美术宣传活动。1943年考入桂林美专西画系，在著名木刻家黄新波教授指导下，苦攻木刻，后加入中华全国木刻协会，作品参加《桂林美专画展》、《全国木刻展》、《全国艺术作品展》。50年代初以来，作品参加多届《全国版画展》和《全国美展》。在国内外举办了10多次个人画展和联展，如在首届中国艺术博览会举办《陈更新画展》；与阳太阳等人举办作品回顾展；应日本盛冈市艺术协会邀请赴日访问举办画展；有不少作品选送亚、欧、美洲10多个国家和地区展出。许多作品在国内外报刊发表，有作品编入10多部大型画册。其中国画和版画，在几次书画大展中，获特别等级奖、优秀奖和荣誉奖，在《日中交流美术展》获日本横浜市长奖，1991年获中国新兴版画贡献奖。数十幅作品为中国美术馆、神州版画博物馆和其它地方美术馆、博物馆以及国内外的一些文化艺术机构和艺术收藏家所收藏。他的传略载入多部大辞书。
