尚莫宗(1908.4—)河南滑县人。擅长版画、美术教育。1929年毕业于北平大学艺术学院西洋画系。解放前曾在山东省立第四、第二师范学校、北平市第二女中、四川南充省立中学、省民众教育馆任图画教师、艺术员、重庆私立西南美术专科校教务主任。解放后调西南师范学院任美术理论教师，副教授，任美术教学法、外国美术史等课程。1979年返聘任课，带研究生。曾从事木刻运动，参加全国第一、二届木刻展和抗战八年木刻展。曾获鲁迅版画奖。出版编著《外国美术简史》、译作《抽象绘画》。
