宋卫哲，男，满族，1973年10月出生，吉林省吉林市人。1996年毕业于西北民族大学美术学院中国画本科（文学学士学位），2008年毕业于西北民族大学美术学院中国画方向研究生（文学硕士学位）。原为青海师范大学美术系讲师，现任教于云南民族大学艺术学院。云南省美术家协会会员，中国少数民族美术促进会会员。
作品二十余次入选并获得省、国家级美术展览奖项，参与全国艺术科学“十五”规划2005年度课题《安多藏区（甘，青，川）古代美术遗迹考究》。作品及名录收入《当代满族书画家传略》、《第八届群星奖优秀作品集》、《青海文艺家辞典》、《走进郑州第五届海峡两岸书画大展作品集》等辞书，作品散见于《美术报》、《西宁晚报》、《西北民族大学学报》。

二十余次参加中国美术家协会，文化部，省美术家协会主办的各级美术展览。荣获多次二、三及优秀奖。
