艺名吴默，江苏镇江人。1962年毕业于南京艺术学院。苏州大学美术教授，美术教育家，著名书画家，《中国当代帛画——吴默画》创始人。法中文化交流长城协会副会长，美国萨基诺大学美术系客座教授，英国皇家联盟科学院荣誉院士。
董文政曾长期从事丝绸美术工作，对绘画、书法、印章、美术史论均有造诣，1967年开始，在苏州(古称吴郡)默默探索吴默画技法，并不断积累作品。吴默画受中国古代帛画启发，以苏州优质真丝双绉为载体，用自己调制的，不褪色的颜料，运用多种工具、手法、精心绘制而成。吴默画内涵中国画气韵生动，外取西洋画色彩斑斓，运用现代艺术手法，表现中华传统文化内涵，中西结合，意象具象结合，寻找到东西方人共同理解的一种“视觉语言”。得到刘海粟，李可染等二十多位老一辈知名艺术家的很高评价。著名历史学家周谷城说“吴默画的载体和中国古代帛画的载体都是真丝绸，吴默画就是中国当代帛画”。
吴默画先后应邀在澳大利亚、美国、瑞典、法国、新加坡等国和我国北京、苏州等地举办画展三十多次，并讲学交流。许多优秀作品被北京艺术博物馆、纽约大都会艺术博物馆等艺术机构收藏。出版有《中国当代艺术家画库——董文政画集》、《中国当代书画艺术名家——董文政帛画作品选》明信片、《中国实力派名家十杰——吴默帛画选》。曾获法国巴黎市徽勋章、巴黎市长签署的奖状。并获中国当代书画艺术杰出成就奖，世界文化名人成就奖和世界学术贡献奖。2004年法国外交部将吴默画展列为“中国文化年”?的特别交流项目，应邀在法国五个地区巡回展出。2005年获法国科亥兹省东支纳克市荣誉市民勋章，?同年获“中华当代杰出功勋艺术家”称号。2007年获香港最高艺术成就奖紫荆花金奖。2008年获“中国改革开放文艺终身成就奖”并被授予“共和国艺术家”、“?中国人民杰出艺术家”?称号。艺术作品被认定为“一级珍贵艺术品”。
