（原名远松），安庆市人，1925年出生。1942年考入重庆磐溪国立艺专中国画系，师承著名国画大师潘天寿、傅抱石、李可染、黎雄才、黄君璧等专攻山水画。现为安徽省安庆市美术家协会名誉主席、安庆市书画院名誉院长、安庆市政协书画院顾问，曾任安庆师范学院艺术系教授。

《九华百岁宫》由中国驻外使馆展出以推广中国国学，并被收藏；
《中华昆仑》入编《中日现代美术通鉴》；
《九华天台》入编《当代山水画佳作赏析》；

2012年，由中国国家画院等单位主办的“走近大自然——韦远柏七十周年国画回顾展”在北京国家画院美术馆成功举办。同时，其作品及艺术事迹被广泛刊登在《20世纪中国书画艺术品鉴》、《中国精品艺术》、《画界》、《中国艺术大家》、《十大中国书画家》、《名流》等国家级专业刊物上。
