宋智明，1952年9月30日生于四川富顺，四川美术学院中国画系毕业，现为中国美术家协会会员，四川工艺美术学会常务理事，四川美术家协会理事，四川省文化馆美术部主任，研究馆员。授聘于山东荷泽文博书画院顾问，中国香港国际画院山水画专业委员会副主席、上海《海上书画缘报》顾问、北京“荣宝斋”特约画家。曾在成都、重庆等七地举办个人画展。二十世纪末《蓝潮》入选成都政府主办的《世纪天府·百年绘画》一百家；《蜀南山村幽》入选中国美术家协会主办的中国画三百家；《千年撼岳图》巨幅山水画特邀在上海浦东新国际展览中心，为汶川大地震一周年纪念设专馆展出；中国电影百年书画展被列入文化名家之列而获特别荣誉奖；获四川省第五届巴蜀文艺奖荣誉奖。

中国画作品入编人民美术出版社、四川美术出版社等专些出版社和文化机构出版的画集（册）八十余本。特别创作了巨幅山水画：《春光破晓图》高1.8米，长48.50米；《青城幽意图》高1.8米，长19.40米；《峨眉郁秀图》高1.8米，长77.60米；《九寨金秋图》高1.8米，长97.00米；《绝笔三峡图》高2.10米，长500.00余米，为中国最大尺寸中国画，世界最大尺寸风景画。
