胡志颖画作

湖南湘阴人。中国重要的当代艺术家。被西方人称为“终极的真正艺术家，具有强烈的个人特性和强悍的不妥协的个性。”
1959年生，教授，博士，中国美术家协会会员。
1977~1981年就读江西师范学院艺术系美术专业，1987~1990年就读广州美术学院中国画专业研究生，1999~2002年就读暨南大学文艺学专业博士研究生。现任教于华南师范大学美术学院。
纽约专业刊物《画廊与工作室》（Gallery&Studio）报道展览、刊登《重造培根——女子角斗》等作品，并发表美国著名批评家迈科马克（EdMcCormack）文章《中国画家胡志颖营造他的培根架构》；纽约专业刊物《画廊指南》（GalleryGuide）刊登《天文Ⅰ》作品和发布展览新闻；《美国艺术》（ArtinAmerica）发布在纽约举办展览新闻。《纽约艺术杂志》》（NYArtsMagazine）刊登《内典录》等作品，并发表美国著名批评家亚当·唐纳德（AdamDonald）的评论。《国际艺术博览会报》（ArtFairsInternationalNewspaper）介绍其艺术。
作品由路德维希博物馆收藏。
