王纯信，教授。男，1939年6月生，吉林省通化县人。共产党员。毕业于通化教育学院。曾任通化市群众艺术馆副馆长、通化书画院副院长等职。现为吉林省通化师范学院美术系主任、通化市美术家协会主席；是中国书法家协会会员、吉林省美术家协会理事。
从事长白山民俗山水画的探讨与创作，作品《福到农家》、《长白山天池》、《山民夜话》等参加《全国六届美展》、《全国地震美术书法展》、《全国教师优秀美术作品汇展》；多件作品去日本、韩国、加拿大展出；数10件作品参加吉林省美展，多件获奖；1989年11月在吉林省举办《王纯信山水画展》，展出山水画作品70余件。从事长白山区满族、朝鲜族、高句丽族民间美术挖掘、整理与研究，已出版专著《白山满族剪纸》；学术论文《长白山区的枕头顶刺绣》、《满族剪纸与萨满教》、《朝鲜族民间刺绣中“十长生图”考释》、《高句丽艺术遗存中的生殖崇拜》等20余篇，发表于中央美院《美术研究》、北京大学《朝鲜学研究》、台湾《汉声》、《中国民间工艺》等学术刊物。由于在这一领域的成果，先后由联合国教科文组织授予“一级民间工艺美术家”称号；由文化部社文局授予“民间美术开拓者”称号；由吉林省政府荣记二等功；获吉林省第三届社会科学优秀成果三等奖。
