潘荣本，男，盂县清城村人，1953年出生。副研究馆员。中国美术家协会会员。
1973年参加工作，在阳泉化工局政治工作办公室工作。1985年调回盂县文化馆工作。1988年至1990年在山西省职工文学院美术系脱产学习。毕业后，返盂县文化馆从事美术创作。1985年，《妈妈您来开》获全国化工职工美术、书法纪念奖；2005年，《我们在太行山上》获纪念抗日战争胜利60周年全国中国画展金奖；2007年，《总理和贫民》获第二届中国职工艺术节全国职工书法美术摄影展览优秀奖；《山乡春意》获全国小幅工笔重彩作品展优秀奖；2008年，《铁肩担道义》获全国中国画展览优秀奖、纪念汶川地震一周年全国优秀美术作品展优秀奖。1980年至2009年入选全国美协各种画展的有《藏山揽胜》《杨家将》《古韵弄影》《湘西三月》《家乡断信》等。《毛泽东诗词人物》等28幅作品入选省美协举办的各种美术展览，并有多幅作品获奖。他的作品多发表于《美术》《美术界》《中国文化报》等国家级专业重要刊物。
潘荣本是山西省美术家协会理事、阳泉市美术家协会副主席、盂县美术家协会主席。2009年加入中国美术家协会，成为盂县美术届唯一的中国美术家协会会员。
