冯湘斌江苏省苏州市人。毕业于苏州美术专科学校环境装饰专业。现为江苏省美术家协会会员、江苏省花鸟画研究会会员、苏州市美术家协会会员、苏州市书画研究会会员，供职于苏州市美术家协会并任苏州市文联展览部艺术总监。
近几年来主要潜心对兼工兼写重彩画的探索与创作，作品注重恪守传统美学理念的同时，追求新颖的现代审美情趣与个性化风格。作品多次入选省、市各级美展并被艺术团体及个人收藏。作品《天下真花独牡丹》及《亭亭立春风》曾先后被江苏省文联、中国美术家协会江苏省创作中心编入“江苏中国画百家”以及“第四届南北方中国画大展”两本大型画集。
