生于辽宁鞍山，现为中国美术家协会会员、宁夏书画院专业画家、国家一级美术师、宁夏美术家协会副主席、宁夏美协中国画艺委会副主任。
1980年加入中国美术家协会；
1986年应南京艺术学院邀请在南京举办个人画展，亚明、陈大羽等参加画展开幕；
1990年作品《天涯芳草》获宁夏90’美术书法大展一等奖；
1991年作品《新绦》入选全国第一届当代中国山水画邀请展；
1993年应邀在泰国举办画展，泰国前总理炳.延素拉暖、中国驻泰大使等为画展剪彩；
1996年5月5日香港文汇报专版介绍其艺术风格；
1997年为银川河东机场候机大厅创作巨幅中国画《大漠金秋》；
1997年被中国文联、中国美协评为“中国画坛百杰画家”；
1998年作品《胡杨秋色》入选中国美协主办的中国画三百家作品展；
1999年作品《叶落无声》入选中国美协主办的“跨世纪暨建国五十周年全国美术作品展”；
2000年作品《大漠晚烟》入选文化部、中国美协艺委会主办的《中华世纪之光》中国画提名展；
2001年1月，随文化部赴法国参加在联合国教科文总部举办的“中国当代书画艺术大展”活动，《芦荡起波万倾金》等六幅作品参加了展览；
2001年作品《大漠金秋》入选全国画院双年展首届中国画展；
2005年6月，“大漠风??曹广福中国画展”在上海刘海粟美术馆展出。
