字可宾、号慎斋，湖南宁乡人。擅长中国画。1928年毕业于宁乡师范。历任湖南省湘绣研究所副所长、副总工程师、顾问。获“工艺美术家”称号，中国美术家协会湖南分会副主席。作品有《草泽雄风》等。
