谢定超笔名老石头。毕业于山西大学美术学院，执教于西南民族大学美术学院，副教授、硕士研究生导师。中国美术家协会会员，四川省美术家协会理事，四川省诗书画院特聘画师，四川省政协委员。作品多次参加与国内外重大美展并获奖，多次在国内外举办个人画展。1995年赴美国举办“中国四川著名画家访美作品展”，2001年赴法国代表国家参加“巴黎卢浮宫国际美术沙龙展”。1999年，2000年获中国文联批准“中国百杰画家”称号。出版有《谢定超中国画艺术》等多部个人画集。
