莫树滋，1941年生，江苏常州人。1965年毕业于南京师范学院美术系。受业于著名画家吕师百，杨建侯诸教授。1965年到1974年从事美术教育工作。1974年调入常州市文化局创作办公室，从事美术创作，作品先后在北京、上海、江苏等省出版社出版60余幅，《理想》发行印数在110万余张、成为深受群众欢迎的现实题材作品。1980年参加常州书画院筹建工作后转为中国画创作专职画师，创作中注重传统，注重生活，力求创新。作品入选“第四届全国年画展”、“第六届全国美展”、“第七届全国美展”、“全国科普美展”、“深圳中国画精品展”等重大展览。多次举办联展，并多次获省级美展奖，还被多处美术馆、博物馆收藏。《美术》、《光明日报》、《经济日报》等多种刊物发表；多幅作品在美国、日本、加拿大、新加坡等国展出。作品选入《江苏省中年国画作品选》，《江苏省花鸟画作品集》、《当代中华墨粹》、论文入编《花鸟画创作谈》论文集，出版有《莫对滋画集》。现为中国美术家协会会员，国家一级美术师，常州书画院专职画师。
