吴建中(1946.11—)，出生于河北省秦皇岛市。擅长中国画。1988年毕业于中国书画函授大学。曾任秦皇岛港报社主任。国家高级美术师、中国美术家协会会员、中国交通书画协会副会长、河北美术家协会理事、秦皇岛市美术家协会副主席、秦皇岛画院画师、中国书画函授大学秦皇岛分校副校长、国画系主任。
一九八一年《伤逝》获全国电影宣传画展览二等奖，《温暖》获全国卫生美术展览北方十三省市展一等奖，一九八三年《久病床前有亲人》获全国卫生美术展览一等奖，一九八四年《缆系四海》获全国职工画展览优秀奖，一九八七年《俺娃毕业回山乡》入选全国卫生美术展览，《海神》、《秋思》、《残存的记忆》、《沸腾的西部》、《海港之晨》先后获全国交通书画展一等奖，一九九九年《观沧海》被天安门管委会收藏，并被收入精品集，二OO一年，《东临碣石、以观沧海》获赴俄罗斯展览银奖，二00一年中国邮政发行《秦皇岛历史人物传说》邮折一套。辞条辑入《中国当代美术家人名录》、《中国现代美术家人名大辞典》、《中国当代艺术界名人录》等。
