吴绍人，生于1939年，北京人，中国美术家协会会员，中国当代国画家。1967年毕业于中央美术学院国画系。大学时代由素描阶段进入中国传统绘画时期，偏爱中国人物画，师从蒋兆和，叶浅矛等先生，同时接触了不少名家学者，在不同画风的熏陶下，获取了广泛的知识。20世纪80年代初在河北师范大学任教，教授传统的中国画人物画。多年来，长期从师中国画教学和创作。连环画《赌据的风波》获全国第三届连环画绘画创作二等奖，出版著作《怎样画人物》。80年代后期，并致力于中国人物画的语言形态和当代意识的研究。同时着力研究花鸟画、山水画和西方现代艺术。在本土文化与现代之间不断尝试和探索、互动互补，力图勾建一种足以传达自己心境的语言方式和新视觉。出版《吴绍人画集》。
