葛茂柱，中国美术家协会会员。1953年生于安徽合肥，承母训，自幼家学，师从王石岑，光元鲲，徐子鹤教授，习中国画山水，动物，尤工画虎，又得林散之先生面授，再拜张大千弟子曹大铁先生为师，遂得大风堂再传弟子印。面壁绘事，未尝或辍。作品自75年开始，参加国内外展览，78年《狮吼》入选全国工艺美术展，89年《虎啸》获省美展三等奖，同年《虎啸龙吟》获第一届国际书画展优秀奖，《听泉》获20世纪国际现代美术展优秀奖，92年应邀赴海南省举办个展，93年在新加坡举办联展，同年《溪边》获雪梨金奖，由澳大利亚美术家协会收藏，94年应邀赴台湾举办两岸文化交流展，95年参加新加坡新年新作展，入选第五，六届全国年画展等。并由上海人美，江苏，山东，安徽美术出版社，以及福建，陕西，四川，湖北，安徽画报社结集出版，有《葛茂柱水墨作品选》，《葛茂柱作品选》，《葛茂柱画集》出版，并著有《画虎漫笔》，《怎样画虎》。
