龙国屏，男，又名龙治，别号淡斋。生于四川宜宾岩门，1931年定居成都。幼承家学，少习绘画，1939年在青城山上清宫拜张大千先生门下，专心致意研习山水，兼攻花鸟。并有幸观读大风堂藏书，饱览先贤遗墨。
他通过心追手摹，不遗余力，经过几十年的不懈努力，形成了讲传统，重意境，苍润浑厚，于潇洒苍茫中见神韵的艺术风格。曾为北京天安门城楼创作巨幅山水画，四川《文史杂志》、云南《民族文化报》、《四川日报》、《中国当代艺术家——陈沫吾》等报刊书籍中，对龙国屏先生的画艺及生平有详细介绍和评介。作品曾参加在日本举行的十一届日中友好书画展：一丈二尺长的《剑门天下壮》被乔石委员长收藏；美国哈佛大学收藏了龙老的花鸟画。屈指计算，2010年恰逢龙国屏先生定居成都79年。79年，就人的生命而言，可谓一个“古稀”之年的体验；就龙国屏先生的艺术生涯而言，却是一段挑战超越成都和自我的历史长河。成都平原，田畴沃野，极目天舒。生活在这个没有山的天地里，大多人眼光平平，心境平平，悠然自得，龙国屏先生却不然。他尽管身居成都，但其生命跋涉之歌却唱响在弯弯山道，轰鸣在叠嶂峰峦。他的情感、心境、视觉“住”在青山之中，而且一“住”便是79个春秋，并随寒暑更替而一往情深地“住”下去，以表达他淡泊明志、宁静致远的境界。晚年，他审定了其弟子陈沫吾主持修订的《大风堂同门录》，为弘扬大风堂画派艺术呕心沥血，，不辞辛苦。正是如此，龙国屏先生心中突兀着峻岭，连绵着群山，挺拔着峰峦，起伏着丘壑，奔泻着山溪，茂盛着松竹，架构着茅屋，行走着高士……这些属于山和与山相关的灵物，在龙国屏先生的笔下透过艺术点染和提炼，变得何等雄浑，何等美丽，何等生机勃勃，何等气象万千，让读者心旌摇曳，遐想翩然。

张大千先生弟子、四川著名国画家龙国屏先生因病医治无效，于2011年2月10日5时26分在四川省人民医院逝世，享年97岁。悼念灵堂设在桂花巷，2月12日上午8:30分在成都磨盘山殡仪馆悼念大厅举行告别仪式，2月19日，弟子们举行缅怀著名国画艺术家龙国屏恩师追思会。
 　　曾先后任中国诗书画研究院院士，四川省美术家协会会员，四川西蜀张大千艺术研究院高级顾问，四川省文史研究馆巴蜀诗书画研究会顾问，成都市政协文史研究员，成都市书法家协会顾问，成都市丙戌金石书画研究会顾问，乌鲁木齐天山书画研究会顾问，成都晚霞书画暨徐悲鸿、张大千艺术研究院顾问，广州张大千艺术研究院顾问兼高级研究员。常居青城山下，虽然属近百岁的寿星老人，但龙老常有作品参加国内、外展览，并广为文博单位收藏，亦多次在新闻媒介中专文专版介绍，名列《中国当代国画家辞典》。其入室弟子陈沫吾、邓由怀、秦学文、谢泰伟、刘起伏、胡真来、徐寿鹏、汪晋权、吴嗣坤、曹山岚、范汝愚、曾伟、曾强、伍文全、肖朝德等，都是蜀中实力派书画艺术家。
