黄莱，男，生于1953年9月，福建永泰人，自幼家学，先后就学于福建师大艺术系和浙江美术学院国画系，福建师大美术学院研究生班结业。参加过第二届全国年画创作班，并从事年画和其它绘画创作多年。近十多年莱，致力于中国画传统形态向当代形态转换的探索、寻求内容题材与表现形式的突破，创造了鲜明的个人艺术风格。注重美术理论与艺术教育理论的研究，撰写并发表了《今日艺术教育之误区》、《会画不如懂画》、《水静犹明、何况精神》、《画果载心、其心可寄》等一定数量的学术论文。《苍生》入选第二届中国花鸟画作品展。国画作品曾参加87.首届九华山杯书画大展获二等奖，《繁花似锦》、《花团锦簇》二幅作品入选全国第七届美展，首届中国花鸟画作品大展《晦日新晴春色娇》获优秀奖，当代著名花鸟画家作品大展优秀奖，跨世纪中国画家作品展获最佳优秀作品奖；中、日文化交流展日本每日新闻社国际赏优秀奖、台闽文化艺术交流展获阿里山文艺奖，以及中、韩、日水墨文化交流展，第二届全国中国画大展，作品《苍生》入选首届中国美术家协会会员精品展，历届全国花鸟画展等多项全国性美展。并先后在福州、香港、台湾等地举办个展。作品颇为收藏界所重。出版有《黄莱画选》、《白描花卉图谱》、《当代中国画名家》、作品集、（黄莱分卷）等画集。个人传略被载入多家美术辞典，艺术成就被福建电视台等多次拍成电视艺术专题片。现为中国美术家协会会员，亚洲书画研究院副院长、福建海峡书画研究院研究员，福建省人大书画室画家，亚洲书画杂志编委，福州市第十届人大代表。现供职于福建省教育学院艺术教育学院，任高级讲师。
