邓子芳在继承中国传统艺术的基础上融入了自己独创的以工整精微的线描和大笔写意泼墨泼彩相结合的手法表现海南风光，开创性的创立了表现海南山水风光、椰风海韵的中国山水画的新样式，他的“邓家风格”山水画随着时间的推移将在中国画传统技法空白地带上承上启下、异彩生辉。邓子芳也是被中国画坛公认的具有强烈地域风貌和艺术风格的杰出代表性画家
